  The self-propelled Peerless 2770 SP Scrap Loader from Austin Heavy Equipment is proof that scrap cranes don't have to be expensive, complicated, and foreign made.

  Built from components with names you know, the 2770 SP delivers maximum performance without complex gadgetry. The simple design is ideal for the scrap environment where simple solutions mean higher production, lower maintenance costs and less downtime.

  This knuckleboom scrap loader is rugged, highly-maneuverable, powerful and fast-a combination that means reliability and efficiency in your scrap yard.		   The loader's muscular upper is manufactured by Peerless which has a worldwide reputation for quality.


  Built with the extra strength that scrap applications demand, the 2770 SP develops impressive lift and speed from its 174 hp Cummins engine. It takes advantage of quality low pressure hydraulic gear pumps and motors like those scrap processors have been using for years.

  Honest design is everywhere on this machine from the large turntable bearing and massive boom set to the quality magnet generator system.





  The compact hydraulically self-propelled undercarriage, manufactured by Austin Heavy Equipment specifically for scrap processing, will move quickly from payload to payload. It features special 28-ply scrap tires, fail-safe brakes, a rugged boxed beam frame and widely available heavy-duty truck components. A single joystick controls travel direction, travel speed and steering.

  Our keep-it-simple philosophy is reflected in feature after feature. The choice of materials and clean installation designs on the 2770 SP are the result of Austin Heavy Equipment's years of experience with scrap applications.

Self-propelled Undercarriage

  • The rugged undercarriage is designed specifically for scrap applications. It's compact design (20' overall length) and joystick steering/travel control mean it is quick and highly maneuverable.

Reliability: The solid Peerless upper includes an extreme service planetary drive swing system that will reward the scrap processor with many years of high speed production. Because oil contamination is a chronic problem is scrap processing, the forgiving design of the gear pumps and motors used by Peerless make them ideally suited for use on your yard.		 High Visibility: Safety and productivity are enhanced by the operator eye level of 12' 7" and a 360 degree view.

Serviceability: Easy access to service and testing points. Standard high-flow, low-pressure hydraulic system components are readily available, resulting in lower repair and replacement costs.

Magnet Generator System: The 100% duty cycle belt-driven Baldor/Hubbell magnet generator system delivers proven reliability and performance.

 Large deck area. Controller is deck mounted for safe easy access.
